People of every age, in every era, have always had moments of stillness—times of quiet to think, ponder, and dream. But today, that seems to be disappearing. Most people are consumed with countless ways to always "be on." Think about it: you could be listening to music, scrolling through Facebook, texting friends, and keeping up with the latest gossip—all at the same time.
People are losing the skill and opportunity to be truly quiet. And by quiet, I don’t just mean not talking—I mean quieting your mind, your soul, and your body. The act of being completely still.
Since the rise of technology, people no longer experience boredom; there’s always something to distract them. But quiet is something every person needs. God did not create us to always be "on"—even He took time for rest.
So, I challenge you: at least once this week, take a moment of silence. Be still. Just be.
"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
- Psalm 46:10
