Have you ever dreamt about what your future husband will be like? I know I have, and it excites me every time I think about it. You have no idea who he is! What are his hobbies? What’s his eye color? Is he 6'8" or 5'4"? The truth is, you don’t know him yet—but imagining what he’ll be like can be so fun!
What about, a young Leonardo DiCaprio: blonde hair, striking green eyes, around 6ft. But honestly, I’ve got to be 100% transparent here—don’t laugh! My dream guy is more like 6'5", with dark skin, dark hair, and green eyes (I’m giggling as I type this). Now, picture that standing next to a girl who’s 5'0"... ADORABLE, right? I know!
Now, I want to acknowledge something important: looks fade. Over time, we all get older, and those sharp features turn to wrinkles. But if he’s a man of God, his heart will remain the same. So, what does his heart look like? How can you tell? How will you know when he’s a genuinely good guy?
Before you even think about dating or marrying this guy, pay attention to his family and friends. Watch how he behaves around them. Is he the same person with everyone, or does he change based on who’s around? Is he kind and loving when he’s with you, but cussing and gossiping when he’s with his friends? He might make you laugh, but is his humor inappropriate?
He might say he’s a Christian, but do his actions reflect that? It’s important to remember that no one is perfect—we all have flaws. But if you’re looking for traits like kindness, intelligence, integrity, humor, and a love for God in your future husband, shouldn’t you be working on those same qualities in yourself?
If you want the best man to walk beside you in life, you want to be the best version of yourself too. That way, when this incredible guy comes along, you won’t be behind him; you’ll be walking together, side by side.

"But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’"
